I had a friend named Amy, we were pretty close. One summer after 7th grade my parents decided to move to another town about half an hour away. I moved over the summer, it was a pretty sudden decision by parents, and so there was no formal good-byes or parties or anything. I had a fight involving Amy and our circle of friends right before moving, ending our friendship. I just moved and didn’t give a shit to talk to the bitches again (this is before the internet and social networking, obviously).
Two years later, I’m in a store and this girl I went to school with and was acquaintances with in my previous town walks up sobbing. I am kinda freaked out by this, and she proceeds to tell me that Amy told everyone I had committed suicide. My former acquaintance kept crying, saying she had experienced several nightmares about me killing myself.
That was the most fucked up thing I had ever heard. My former friends never corrected her and went along with it.
